Description

Painting of a blue jay with golden light from behind

“Règle d’or” or Golden rule in communication is an ethical principle of treating others as one wants to be treated by them. Blue jay as the main subject of the painting represents courage. It is often considered as a symbol of communication. However, is in some cultures it is considered as a loud and arrogant bird. This is to remind that assertiveness may be sometimes considered as arrogance but we need to be courageous and speak up when we see injustice.

I paint birds as a symbol of freedom, value that is crucial to me as well as the whole Western world. Freedom needs to be protected. Even though the birds I paint are rarely predators, it doesn’t mean that they are defenceless.

Golden yellow married with royal blue reminiscent of luxury, success and triumph, this painting proclaims victory of civilised society against oppression, and admiration of humanity and justice.
